Description

Vicryl Plus Suture, undyed, size 3/0, 54 inches, is a coated absorbable suture designed for effective soft tissue approximation and ligation. The suture is made of polyglactin 910, a synthetic, braided material that provides excellent handling and knot security. Its coating enhances smooth passage through tissue and reduces tissue drag during suturing.

The antibacterial properties of Vicryl Plus are achieved through a triclosan coating, which effectively kills bacteria and inhibits bacterial colonization on the suture surface. This feature reduces the risk of surgical site infections, providing an added layer of protection in surgical procedures. 

Mechanical strength is maintained with a gradual loss of 50% tensile strength occurring approximately three weeks after implantation. This retention of strength supports tissue during the critical early healing phase, ensuring wound stability. Complete mass absorption of the suture occurs between 56 and 70 days, allowing the tissue sufficient time to regain its natural strength without the presence of foreign material.
